The Hot Zone by Richard Preston
The Hot Zone by Richard Preston
This novel deals with one of the deadliest virus EBOLA (virus spreads through the body, it damages the immune system and organs. Ultimately, it causes levels of blood-clotting cells to drop. This leads to severe, uncontrollable bleeding)I read this entire book in one sitting which is rare for me !! Our first contact in the 1960s with Marburg virus (MARV), a close cousin to Ebola, named for the German city in which it was discovered; the earliest recorded outbreak of Ebola Zaire (EBOZ) in Sudan and DRC (formerly Zaire) in 1976; the 1989 outbreak of Reston virus (RESTV) in Northern Virginia are covered in this book. Absolute PAGE TURNER!!
